The year is 20XX. Since the downfall of Team Dim Sun and their Gigaremos, twenty years have passed and the Almia region has flourished. Populations grew, Pokémon and people alike.[break][break]
Although previously run by Rangers and the Ranger Union, Trainers from the northern Sinnoh region made their way down south to see what Almia was all about. This sparked some controversy within the Ranger Union, especially with the recent retirement of Professor Hastings and Chairperson Erma. Eventually, however, the Trainer League from Sinnoh and the Ranger Union came to an agreement, and a new Badge Challenge was established in Almia with the understanding that Trainers could not attend the Ranger School near Vientown. With the rise of Trainers in the region came a new class of young people, which called themselves "Wardens". They combine the best qualities of Trainers and Rangers into one, and are able to raise and train Pokémon while also utilizing them for field work.[break][break]
This sparked new controversy, which is still being settled to this day. Presently, Wardens are allowed to be trained alongside Rangers and can even compete in the Badge Challenge if they wish, but they cannot fulfill all the duties of a Ranger. Wardens are working on developing their own Union or League, and whispers are being heard about starting something in Pueltown.[break][break]
Rangers are now the sole law enforcement in Almia, including handling disputes between Trainers, and have the authority to "arrest" individuals they deem to be breaking the law. This brings us to the topic of Team Galactic. The nefarious group of ne'er-do-wells followed the Trainers down from Sinnoh and subsequently set up camp in Almia around ten years ago. Since then, the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon that were sometimes seen alongside Rangers have disappeared entirely. None have been seen in nearly ten years, leaving the people of Almia that relied on the Legendaries' power and good will worried. The Ranger Union and Trainer League have no answers.[break][break]
But perhaps...the young upstarts emerging from all over the Pokémon world and flocking to Almia will be able to help.[break][break]
