Lavender has long, light violet hair, usually done up in a wispy braid or a decorative bun, sometimes further decorated with little flowers and bits of plants. His eyes are sharp and keen, and a light green reminiscent of leaves. His build is thin and long, as if he had a growth spurt and hasn't quite filled out completely yet. His face is dotted with light freckles and a couple moles, and there's a gap in his two front teeth.[break][break]
His usual clothing style is very Kalosian, with an open-front white, light shirt, a necklace with a gemstone pendant, and tight, fashionable pants in a dark gray color. His belt is colorful and long, with pouches for carrying various items and spaces for Poké Balls. His bag is a typical brown satchel slung over his willowy shoulders, and it's big enough to hold all the Trainer necessities.
Although handsome and charming, Lavender can be hard to get along with due to his quickly judgemental nature. He will openly turn his nose up at those he deems "lesser" than him, and is not afraid of making snide comments about others' appearance or Pokémon. He knows what he likes and what he doesn't, and he is going through a bit of a culture shock at how dirty Almian people can be. He hates getting his hands dirty, having been raised in a more upper-class household, and is in for a rude awakening when he realizes he actually has to do unsavory things now.[break][break]
That being said, when Lavender likes you, he is friendly, charming, and clingy. His love language is light physical contact, and it baffles him that not everyone likes platonic hand-holding! He will talk your ear off about his day, barely bothering to listen when you want to talk about your day.[break][break]
Lavender has a strong preference for Grass-type Pokémon and Pokémon he deems "pretty". He doesn't like "ugly" Pokémon, which unfortunately includes the little Chespin he received from Professor Sycamore. His Chespin adores him, however, and is none-the-wiser.
Lavender was born in Laverre City in the Kalos region. His parents were florists in the city, alongside their trusty pet Leafeon. He has a younger sister named Mauve, who is two years his younger. Lavender never quite aspired to be a Pokémon Trainer until he realized the prestige one could get by becoming Champion. When he turned 10, he gathered up his Pokédollars and bought himself a few Poké Balls and set out with the family Leafeon to catch some Pokémon. His first Pokémon was a blue Flabébé that he named Fay. Lavender quickly realized that he wasn't particularly good at battling, judging by how many times poor Fay and Leif, the Leafeon, were knocked out in battles. He didn't quite understand the rules of battling, he simply called out a move and hoped it worked.[break]
After a miserable several attempts at fighting the first Gym Leader in the region, Lavender gave up on being a Trainer. It was too hard and confusing, and it was much easier to work in his parents' flower shop instead. He wanted to spare his parents from any more embarrassments. So, he recruited Fay to help out in the gardens and worked as a simple florist and clerk for his teenage years, all the while watching his peers train Pokémon.[break]
It wasn't until Lavender was nearing his 18th birthday that he heard of a new up-and-coming region called Almia, far off near Sinnoh. It even had a new Badge Challenge. This was his chance. Not only was Almia growing ever-more-popular, but he could go and take on the Badge Challenge without fear of embarrassing his family. Promptly, once he turned 18, he went to the Professor's Lab and begged for a new starter. He had never received one, after all, and naturally picked the Grass-type starter. Much to his chagrin, however, it was...some little rodent-type Pokémon, apparently. The Fire-type starter was much cuter...but he couldn't just give it back, it was attached to him now! So he reluctantly named the little Chespin "Marceau" and set on his way. But not after grabbing the family Leafeon and taking the aging Grass-type along with him. Leif was honestly just happy to see something new for a change.[break]
And thus, Lavender arrived in Almia, ready to start his new adventure.
